My digital aura K-Zumbi explores the visualisation of interlaced memories and digitally shared moments.

Kazumbi means spirit from another world, ghost, aura and deity in Kimbundu, an Angolan dialect.

K-Zumbi is a thousand Kazumbis falling from the meta-verse into your memory, like quantum particles these visitors from other realities form-shift once gazed upon.
The builders of the collective consciousness we all inhabit digitally, they spread like pollen out of flowers, and each memory/action becomes the polleniser that spreads it.

Seeks to understand the new semantics of identifying with our bodies, memory, digital auras, code of place, afrofuturism and hybrid-materiality when our digital selves supersede our physical presence. Moving beyond the usual western aesthetics that often exalt the digital space.

KAZUMBI is the sweetest way my mother always found of calling me an alien, without making me feel alienated. It also means spirit from another world, ghost, aura and deity in Kimbundu, an Angolan dialect.
As digital citizens we become part of a broader consciousness, of a broader spiritual fabric.
Today finally my homes of Africa, Fashion, Tech and Culture merge - Kazumbi is a digital spirit of the future, that spreads and re-incarnates through digital screens.

Kazumbi is the merging of many different moments, experiences and families-of-my-life. From being Made in Africa, to growing in Lisboa and eventually getting-my-freak-on in London. A blend of different cultures, realities and selves.

Above it all KAZUMBI is my matriarchal ancestry, the copy to my paste, all the women that built the structure of who I am today. They fought against colonisers, misogynists, xenophobia and other phobias that are people related.
Could I be any prouder OF WHO WE ARE TODAY?
Like always, builders of realities, worlds, diversities and activists of equal rights. People, conquering all realities in which we find alienation.
Creating new Legacies as Painters beyond the ‘lines’ imposed. Not afraid of blurring the fuck out of whichever social notion previously held.
